HUB Hosts Back-to-School Celebration

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Community Hub in Augusta held a back-to-school celebration Saturday morning.

Along with getting school supplies, students could get vision screenings.

There were also mental health resources to make sure the school year begins smoothly.

One of the organizers said things aren’t back to normal for some people because of Hurricane Helene.

“We know that the start of the school year can be expensive, so we want to make sure that students have a backpack supply, fun celebration and sort of a kickoff to what we hope will be a great school year,” said Betsy VanDeusen, director, Harris Literacy Center.
