WHAT WE DO
Building Community
The HUB Augusta Collaborative is proud to be welcomed into the Purpose Built Family, a national coalition of communities driving neighborhood revitalization through a common framework. The Purpose Built model is driven by the voices and vision of neighborhood residents. Local Community Quarterback Organizations translate that vision into a strategic plan, collaborating with residents and public and private partners to bring it to life. Purpose Built provides expertise and support to help ensure its successful implementation.

Mixed Income Housing
Providing safe and affordable housing has always been considered one of the cornerstones of the Collaborative's plan. The team started working on housing solutions for the surrounding communities at the same time it began work on the HUB for Community Innovation. The Augusta Choice Neighborhoods plan represented what collaboration could look like on a large scale - involving many nonprofits, local churches, the City of Augusta, and other municipal partners.
Cradle-to-Career Education
Providing a solid start for children growing up in the neighborhood is crucial to success. The work of RISE Augusta, the Paulette P. Harris Literacy Center, and Augusta University make it possible for those just getting started to enter the school system with the tools they need for success.

Community Wellbeing
Health, wellness, mental health support, and access to healthy foods were all a part of the HUB visioning process. The goal of the Collaborative is to extend on the amazing work already active in the community through Augusta Locally Grown and Harrisburg Family Healthcare. Plans include the extension of MCG's food as medicine program, rural health programming, mobile clinics, and the development of a new grocery store that serves the local community.
Economic Vitality
The overarching goal of the HUB Augusta Collaborative is to provide the residents of the Harrisburg and surrounding neighborhoods the opportunity to be economically mobile - to truly thrive. This starts with health and wellness - education and literacy - and extends to the workplace where residents can truly find financial independence.
